Job Summary
We are looking for a Home Health Aide/Memory Care specialists to assist with care for elderly woman with early dementia. You will directly work with one woman, providing in home care. Ideal candidates operate with a big heart, not only providing personalized and attentive care but by building genuine relationships with those you serve. You are detail-oriented, highly organized, and committed to creating a healthy environment that meets patient needs. Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed to succeed in this role. Prior Home Health or Hospice experience is a plus. Patient lives with daughter and care would be provided in home in Lancaster, Texas.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily activities such as preparing food, showering, oral hygiene, etc.
- Care for patients by changing bed linens, doing laundry, cleaning the home, or assisting with personal care
- Build relationships with patients by conversing or reading aloud to help keep them mentally healthy and alert
- Give medications as needed
- Engage patients in exercises or other activities
- Build relationships with patient family members because patient lives with daughter
- Could use provided vehicle for outings as appropriate
- Care would be part-time either during the day, evenings or some weekends depending on your availability for the right candidate
Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited Home Health Aide program
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year prior professional experience
- Driver’s license required
- CPR certification required
Compensation: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
